Mr. Arriola passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014, Nacogdoches.
Gregory was born in Houston, Texas on April 16, 1957, to Mr. Thomas Arriola and Maurine Ellis. Gregory grew up in Nacogdoches. He attended and graduated in 1976 from Nacogdoches High School. While in school Gregory was very well known and loved by all his class mates. He was voted Mr. Personality Plus and Freshman Favorite his freshman year. He was also involved in Varsity football and Varsity baseball while in school. He was quarterback for the varsity football team and was voted best all around football player for that year. In baseball, Gregory, was well known for his skills in pitching. He was invited by many well known professional leagues to come and be involved in their baseball camps. He also set many records for his pitching abilities; which he set a Nacogdoches record in striking out an entire baseball team in one game. Gregory, with his pitching record was put in the Little League Hall of Fame. To sum it up in the words of his son, Terry, “in everything he did, he was the BEST!”

Gregory, not only was he loved by his football and baseball teams; he was very well loved by his loving family. He enjoyed spending time Bar-B-Queuing with his family and friends. Briskets were one of his favorites to BBQ. He loved his family; he loved to have a good time; and he loved to party. He was one of the funniest persons to hang around with. He would lift you up just by being with him. He had an awesome sense of humor. Gregory was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Gregory is survived by his mother, Maurine Ellis; father, Thomas Arriola; son, Terry Arriola; daughters, Amity Arriola, Camille Greene and husband, Kenneth, and Jennifer Zinn; brother, Tommy Arriola and wife, Judy; three grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and friends. He was very well loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
